Cleaning, Care + FAQ
If you have additional questions beyond those addressed below, email firstname.lastname@example.org
How do I clean my play rug?
We do not suggest using any type of vacuum or appliance with rotating brushes, as they WILL cause damage. Strong cleaners, including essential oils, rubbing alchohol and nail polish will strip the material.
The best way to clean is with baby wipes, a damp cloth with laundry detergent/ water, dish soap, or mild cleaning solutions such as Method, Mrs Meyer's, or Seventh Generation.
Hose it down outside for the bigger messes, but please note, the material may be slippery when wet!
How durable are the play rugs?
Ruggish play rugs are waterproof and very durable, but they can stain! Be careful with marker, pen, paint, pureed carrots, dark berries, tomato sauce or other acidic liquids, as they may not come out.
We have not done formal testing with pets, but sharp objects, such as pet nails, may pierce the material, so it is not recommended.
Can I use my play rug outside or with furniture?
The Ruggish Play Rug is a great place to sit and play outside, but it should not be left in direct sunlight for a long period of time, as it could fade.
It is not recommended to leave heavy objects on the play rug, as it may cause a permanent impression.
Can I use more than one rug in a room?
Absolutely! Ruggish play rugs are a great way to fill a large space. When using more than one, please note that the pattern may not perfectly align.
Is the material suitable for pet use?
We always say it depends on the pet. We have many customers with pets who have shared that general walking or rolling has not been an issue. If your pet likes to dig and scratch, it could cause damage.
Can the play rugs be used over carpet?
You can definitely put the play rug on top of carpet. The material is dense enough and will stay put (of course, it could vary based on carpet type). It's a great way to avoid carpet stains during those messy infant years!
